Thank you for your interest in and desire to become a literacy partner with Newspapers In Education! (NIE)
The goal of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch NIE program is to reach young readers, and the program does so by providing St. Louis area teachers and students access to the Post-Dispatch to use as a living, ever-changing textbook for learning. The program encompasses every subject from reading, writing and science to geography, math and character education. Studies show that classrooms that use the newspaper as a regular part of their daily instruction improve standardized test scores 10 to 30 percent. Your sponsorship or donation will help raise student test scores while building literate, responsible and informed citizens.
Each year, NIE promotes its programs to more than 17,000 educators, with over 425,000 students in more than 3,000 schools in 16 counties in Missouri and Illinois. With the use of the e-Post, NIE's electronic exact replica of the newspaper you access electronically, NIE's reach is even wider. The Post-Dispatch NIE program has been providing newspaper access to area classrooms for over 30 years and annually provides access to more than 3.4 million newspapers for classroom use.
NIE has a sponsorship or donation level for every individual, organization or business.

Literacy Day Signature Page
Each year, the Newspapers in Education department publishes a full page feature that includes signatures of support from business and community leaders in recognition of International Literacy Day for a donation of $800.
