You don't have to be sly like a fox to spot a great local saloon. Fox Park Grille recently opened at the south-city corner that once housed long-running neighborhood hangout Tanner B's and, after that, Bodegas Bar & Grill.
Jazzed-up American-grill standards, Bodegas Fox Park Grille infuses it starters, sandwiches, and wing with signature touches. The grill’s casual atmosphere ushers sports fans and foodies alike to it tables, where burgers stuffed with American, Blue and Swiss cheese challenge hands to heft their kaiser rolls. From the meatballs to the sauces, including roasted red pepper, honey mustard and marinara.
The kitchen crafts many eats in-house and remains open at least til 10 pm weekdays and til midnight on weekends.
You can top your patty with such options as cheddar-cheese sauce and thick pepper bacon or herbed garlic butter. A ground turkey burger comes with the bold flavors of Granny Smith apples, cranberry relish, crisp prosciutto and goat cheese.There are three stuffed burgers, including the chef's choice, a black & blue spicy blackened burger stuffed with blue cheese and topped with sweet caramelized onions. All burgers come accompanied by a salted side of crispy fries and a house made pickle.
Head over during open hours Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. -- the kitchen stays open until midnight every night.
And it not just bar fare that brings in the crowd. Evening entertainment includes Wednesday trivia nights and karaoke on Thursday and Friday. On Saturdays, DJ Rayn spins songs from the ’80s and ’90s for a nostalgic dance party.
